At Masterworks, we treat our responsibility to serve the ministries we partner with as a sacred duty. And a core part of delivering on this commitment is to bring the best, most talented and most experienced people in the world, who also have hearts for ministry.
To that end, I’m privileged to announce the addition of two tremendous talents to the Masterworks senior strategy team — Scott VanderLey and Jon Van Wyk.
As leaders of client strategy, Scott and Jon will provide planning and strategic support for Masterworks non-profit partners, looking beyond the immediate horizon to identify big opportunities, new markets and growth strategies.
Scott VanderLey – Senior Vice President, Client Strategy
Scott comes with a background in non-profit leadership, as well as leadership in the marketing agency world. He has extensive experience in the integration of media, donor-experience optimization, digital marketing and multichannel acquisition strategies for high-value monthly donors.
He joins Masterworks after seven years of heading up Russ Reid’s digital practice, providing digital strategy and execution — including website design and optimization, data-driven digital acquisition, email, social media and mobile integration — for that agency’s non-profit clients.
Before that, Scott served as World Vision’s senior director for web marketing and user experience, overseeing the worldvision.org user experience as well as social media, SEM/SEO, display and email strategy for the organization. Scott’s 10 years of service at World Vision also included leadership roles in disaster response marketing — positions he held during World Vision’s television, retail, cataloging and direct mail responses to the Asia tsunami and Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Scott is excited to combine his decades of experience in helping non-profits grow with his role alongside clients and the Masterworks team.
Jon Van Wyk – Senior Vice President, Client Strategy
Jon is a pioneer in the application of analytics to strategic planning. He has established analytics and planning practices in several agencies, including Domain and, most recently, TrueSense Marketing.
Organizations want to grow so they can expand their Kingdom work. Jon’s approach to growth begins with: 1) listening to each client’s goals and vision for the future; and 2) gaining a deep understanding of their current situation. These two things become the foundation for a strategic plan that meets the organization’s objectives.
With a background that spans over three decades, Jon has been honored to serve some of most impactful ministries worldwide, including those in international relief and development, evangelism and discipleship through Scripture placement and broadcast, domestic human services, and urban rescue missions.
Masterworks is fortunate to serve many of the best ministries in the country. Jon is thrilled to partner in this work.
It’s a humbling responsibility to be gifted with such a knowledgeable, strong team at Masterworks — people with extensive leadership experience and expertise in their own right who want to be part of a cohesive team, and who desire to make a lasting impact in partnership with the ministries we serve. They inspire generosity every day.
